Cooking & Camp Shores: Our heavy duty catering and carrying equipment for camping. Truck is always ahead of our group to arrange camping and meals. The chief is responsible for organizing and overseeing cooking, replenishing water and other camp chores. However, all expedition members are expected to help with these tasks on a root basis. Our catering truck usually carry staple foods to last for trip. Whenever possible, we buy locally fresh foods to supplement this supply. Expedition members will be informed of menus and hygienic procedures in food preparation. There is a good rang of pots, pans and dishes on the truck. We do cook on gas. It is our feeling that the little wood available in Sinai should be left for the Bedouin, but we may carry some from Cairo for a fire on the beach. Our meals are varied and wholesome, we have a good breakfast before leaving camp, stop for cold lunch on the roadside, and prepare hot meals in the camp. Some days we take a packed lunch for trekking or riding camels. |
